Exciting things going down THIS FRIDAY, 8/12 at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse. Ohne- ká and the Burning River will be throwing a cd release party in celebration of their long awaited album, Tree Lines and Birth Rights. Joining the party and getting things cooking for the evening will be Inclusive Or, Sound Discard, and the Ethernauts.
Lots of good things to say about this band and lots of reasons not to miss this show. First, let me appeal to your easiest and most common hang up – this is a FREE SHOW! It will cost you nothing but the time you spend allowing this band to impress you! Never heard of Ohne-ká and the Burning River? They are heavy and their instrumental music is exploratory and FULL of character! Personally, I call them a crossover band. I think they could successfully straddle both the hard rock / metal scene, as well as the jam band scene. Easily!
Tree Lines and Birth Rights is a concept album that has been in the works for several years. It tells an original story dreamed up by Ohne-ká and the Burning River and written by guitarist Adam Althoff. The new 7 track cd will be available Friday at the Lost Horizon and will include a 7 chapter book along with the CD and a beautifully illustrated jacket.
This album is also available for digital purchase with a “Pay What You Want” option with prices starting at $0 at:
A digital copy of the 7 chapter short story in PDF format is available for free at that link and a copy is included with each digital download of the album.
