Seedstock is our choice festival pick of the weekend. Running August 4-6, the festival kicks off Friday at Reed’s Seeds Farm in Cortland, NY with an array of bands including Syracuse heavyweights Sophistafunk and Root Shock, as well as other top area talents such as New Daze, Mosaic Foundation, Quona Hudson, Next to Kin, Horizon Wireless and Red Brunette, a brand new group from Old Boy Records featuring Joe Driscoll, Chris Merkley, and Gabe Cummins.
Seedstock is located at 3336 State Route 215 in the hills overlooking Cortland, NY on an expanse of property that has been farmed by the Reed family for over 200 years. The land is now managed by Main Street Farms, a local organic vegetable farm who will be providing all the produce for food vending at the festival. The farm-to-table operation is just one of the many way the festival highlights support of the local community. There will also be children’s activities sponsored by a number of local organizations as well as a variety of art and sculpture installations by local artists throughout the festival grounds.
