Melvin Seals and JGB will play a special show tonight at Syracuse’s Westcott Theater. No stranger to the area or the venue, Melvin Seals will provide the thunderous organ that accompanied Jerry Garcia for so many years. He will give you classic after classic. What makes tonight so special actually revolves around one of the openers, Boogie Low. Tonight, singer / guitarist Louden Smith will play his LAST show with Boogie Low. Louden decided to separate himself from Boogie Low to allow some of his other musical projects to come to the forefront. We wish Louden the best and thank him for all those times! Boogie Low vows to embrace this left turn and redefine. As a big fan, I’m trying to internalize this change as a positive that will leave 2 things to enjoy and appreciate, rather than leaving a smoldering memory of a former good thing. I can’t wait to see what comes of this. They are a talented group. I am certain they won’t disappoint. Something else that will not disappoint is the other opening act, Los New Yorkers. They are honest, grassroots rockers from right here in upstate. You want to be at The Westcott Theater tonight before the first note is played by the first band. I promise!
